Screaming Trees were a grunge and psychedelic rock band from Ellensburg, Washington, formed in 1985. Led by vocalist Mark Lanegan, they were pioneers of the grunge sound but never achieved the commercial success of their Seattle peers. Their 1996 album Dust is their masterpiece.
