Riverfenix

1995–1998

pop punk punk

Riverfenix formed in late 1995 in Houston, founded by guitarists Damon DeLaPaz and Will Salazar, drummer Donnie Reyes, and vocalist Carl Lockstedt. When Lockstedt left, Salazar took over vocals and bassist Adam Lewis joined. They released the G.B.O.H. EP on Fuzzgun Records (1996) and a self-titled album on Drive-Thru Records (1997). After the estate of actor River Phoenix issued a cease and desist order, the band became Fenix TX and signed to MCA Records, going on to sell over 600,000 albums.
