Quicksand were a post-hardcore band from New York City, formed in 1990. Guitarist/vocalist Walter Schreifels (ex-Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today) led the band through two acclaimed albums, Slip (1993) and Manic Compression (1995), that blended hardcore with alternative rock.
