Project Grimm
1995–2003, 2010–present
Project Grimm emerged from the dissolution of The Mike Gunn after their drummer departed unexpectedly. Guitarist John Cramer assembled a new lineup in 1995, recruiting drummer Ricky Costello (from Bleachbath) and collaborators from his noise project Schlong Weasel, to pursue a more straightforward approach to guitar rock. The band released their debut album Lying Down in 1996 and maintained a long residency at Sterrett Street Studios. They initially split in 2003 on the very day their second album Huge Beings was released. After a brief Christmas reunion in 2008, the band permanently reformed in 2010. They released The Crass Menagerie in 2017. The band prefers playing at Rudyard's, where they've had relationships with staff for over two decades.
