Carl Perkins was a rockabilly pioneer from Tiptonville, Tennessee. His 1956 hit "Blue Suede Shoes" was one of the first rockabilly records to cross over to the pop charts. He was a member of the Million Dollar Quartet alongside Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
